A very, very busy summer
Over the past few months our volunteers have been busy at a large number of events and activities. We have been at the CLAPA fair at Godinton School, and we had stalls at the Danny Hall event, the Kennington Fair and in Ashford Town Centre as well as at The Leas in Folkestone. We were at pregnancy information events in Ashford and Canterbury and will be at two more of these events in Ashford, and six more in Canterbury before the end of 2018, raising awareness of the Sands Safer Pregnancy website. Charmaine has been busy with two fundraising events in Lydden, and we have more awareness and fundraising events during the rest of the year.
Alongside all this we have been working with colleagues at the William Harvey to make sure the bereavement suite really happens - we have been so disappointed at the delays, but pleased it has finally opened! We have continued to run our two support meetings each month as well as supporting people on a one to one basis. And in our spare time, we have revamped out posters and leaflets as well as planning three training days for midwives and others and responding to a request for training from the Students Union. Yes, its been pretty busy!
